Before founding ASMBLY, Angela and Mercedes worked side by side at a small activewear company. What stood out most from that experience wasn’t just the clothing, it was the incredible community of women they connected with along the way. Witnessing women pursue their goals, celebrate milestones, and feel strong and confident in thoughtfully designed activewear became the driving force behind their passion. 

When that chapter came to a close, the community’s outpouring of support made it clear that something meaningful had been built. That sense of connection and purpose deserved a new home.

Mercedes later chose to follow her heart pursuing a career in teaching, while Angela remained steadfast to continue building on the vision they once shared.

That’s how ASMBLY came to life. The name comes from the word assembly, meaning both a gathering of people and to build. It represents everything the brand stands for: a community coming together to build something intentional, inclusive, and lasting.

ASMBLY is more than activewear. It’s a collective of women building strength, confidence, and connection, one design, one movement, and one story at a time.
